Announcing the Central Oregon Symphony’s Fall Concert Series with Soloist Linda Wang
As the seasons change and autumn settles in, the Central Oregon Symphony is proud to announce our Fall Series—kicking off Maestro Michael Gesme’s final year at the podium. Join us for a season of memorable performances and a heartfelt farewell to a beloved conductor.
Please note that our venue for this concert will be Mountain View High School.
Fall Concert Series
This concert series will feature guest musician Linda Wang,
Violin Soloist.
Violinist Linda Wang joins us for Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto in D Major. A former child prodigy, she debuted with Zubin Mehta and the New York Philharmonic at age nine and has since performed with over 75 orchestras worldwide. Known for her warm tone and expressive artistry, she performs on a 1767 Guadagnini violin. Dvořák’s “New World” Symphony opens the second half, blending European structure with American spirituals and folk influences. Composed in 1893 during his time in the U.S., the symphony’s sweeping melodies and stirring themes evoke a spirit of discovery, longing, and hope.
